How widespread do you think this technology will become? What
uses will be garnered from it? Do any of them concern you?
It is becoming a widespread technology. It can be used by any
industry to analyze the people’s interests and tendencies. It
does concern me because my privacy is on the line.
(5 pts) Project Managemement in Practice –
The Olympic Torch Relay
Project
, pgs. 8, questions 1-3
1.
Which of the three universal and three common characteristics of
projects are displayed in the regular torch relay?
Universal characteristics: Unique, one-time occurrence, and
finite duration.
Common characteristics: Interdependencies, resources,
conflict.
2.
Since this is such a regular project—every 4 years since 1936—
would you consider it a nonproject or a quasi-project? Why or why
not?
I would consider this a project. Since each relay will not be
managed routinely. Since each town or country will have

different complex policies and will only be a one-time event.
Therefore, it will need to constantly adapt to the differences.
3.
Is the torch relay another part of the Olympics themselves, perhaps
a subproject?
The Olympics are a program and the torch relay is a project.
