Another source of energy that I find effective is solar energy. Solar energy is not as cost-efficient as hydropower because although the sun does not cost anything, the creation of the solar panels using the solar cells does. Given the cost of this energy it is less likely for there to be a wide use of it throughout home owners, so the federal government could create solar paneled governmental buildings and target large corporations that use a lot of energy. Sunlight around the United States varies because of the differences in cloud cover and latitude, and also varies with the seasons. This would mean that we would need to strategically place the large solar energy plants in places such as the southwest, and others that have a lot of sunlight hours. Wind power is another renewable energy source that is extremely effective. Wind turbines can be used to generate electricity either for individual use or for contribution to a utility power grid. Wind turbines usually have two or three blades and are placed on tall towers to capture the most energy. As the blades turn, the central shaft spins a generator to make electricity. Wind power increases with its speed, therefore putting wind farms in strategic places are important. The strongest winds in the United States tend to be in Alaska, the western United States, and the Appalachians. Right now wind power is 1% of the United States energy, and like the other renewable sources, wind power cannot be the sole energy provider for the nation. It is important for us to collaborate energy sources and make a large scale plan for the United States and the placement and use of renewable energy. Climate change is occurring at a rapid pace and as a nation we need to make a difference in our own country

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.
Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern
I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.
University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern
The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
