Items 50 and 54: The circumference, diameter, and shape of the crowbar conform well to the dent in the window frame, therefore the crowbar cannot be [included or excluded?] from having created the indentation. The crowbar is [included or excluded?] , but not [classified or identified?] , by this mark. A scraping, designated as item 50(a), was taken from a portion of the window frame not near the indentation to be tested for the presence of aluminum. - The scraping was tested by placing the metal shavings into a well plate and adding a couple drops of sodium hydroxide. Aluminum metal reacts with sodium hydroxide to produce hydrogen gas; if the metal from the window frame is aluminum then hydrogen gas bubbles produced from the reaction will be visible when viewed with the microscope. - When viewed with the microscope, bubbles are forming in the well. The window frame is [positive or negative?] for aluminum. Item 54( letter ) – metallic gray flakes from crowbar smudge, were tape-lifted from the crowbar and examined by the trace evidence section using a [what type of microscope? The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
