System Safety: It is a specialty within system engineering that supports program risk management. Takeoff Runway: A runway intended for takeoff only. Thermal Neutron Analyser: It is a baggage-screening device that detects explosives by using low-energy neutrons to sense gamma radiation. Tomography: It is a technique for displaying a representation of a cross section through a human body or other solid object using X-rays or ultrasound. Touchdown Zone: The portion of a runway, beyond the threshold, where it is intended landing aeroplanes first contact the runway. Transit Visa: Short-term (usually 24 hours) visa allows a passenger to travel across or through the issuing country on way to another country. Universal Security Audit Programme: It represents an important initiative in ICAO’s strategy for strengthening aviation security worldwide and for attaining commitment from States in a collaborative effort to establish a global aviation security system. Vapour Detection: This machine works on principles of sensing of minute amount of vapour emitted by explosives. VHF Omni-directional Range: It is a type of radio navigation system for aircraft. A VOR ground station broadcasts a VHF radio composite signal including the station’s identifier, voice (if equipped), and navigation signal.
