After detail surveyed, we plotted the survey plan, the highest point was Station A, the lowest point was bench mark, the gully and manhole were in a lower level, and the footpath and light were in a higher level. Detail surveys is a basic prerequisite for construction, it is a very important process in construction. We can get many information of the land. We learnt the practical of detail survey are very helpful for us develop in construction. 17
CON3321 Engineering Surveying 1PE04 Practical Exercise #3 Detail Surveying 6.0 Recommendation The accuracy required in surveying should always be considered before the survey is started. This is governed by two factors: The scale of the finished product (plan or map), and The accuracy with which it can be plotted. For feature positions, it is usual to assume a plotting accuracy of 0.2 mm and for various scales this will correspond to certain distances on the ground. These lengths are an indication of the accuracy required ate scales in question. However, even of initially a plan is to be plotted at say, 1 in 500, part of it may at a later date be enlarged to, say, 1 to 50 so it is always better to take measurements in the field to a greater accuracy than that required for the initial plan. 18

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
