Ask satisfied customers to contact your boss A favorable comment by a customer receives considerable weight because customer satisfaction is a top corporate priority. Customers' motivation is assumed to be pure because they have little concern about pleasing suppliers. d. Be courteous, pleasant, and positive. Courteous, pleasant, and positive people are the first to be hired and the last to be fired (assuming they also have other important qualifications). Polite behavior provides an advantage because many people believe that civility has become a rare quality. e. Ask Advice Asking another person for advice—someone whose job does not require giving it— will usually be perceived as a compliment. f. Send thank-you notes to large numbers of people. g. Flatter others sensibly. Flattery in the form of sincere praise can be an effective relationship builder. By being judicious (bijaksana) in your praise, you can lower the defenses of work associates and make them more receptive to your ideas. An effective, general-purpose piece of flattery is to tell another person that you are impressed by something he or she has accomplished. 3. Strategies Aimed at Avoiding Political Blunders Several leading blunders are described next: a. Criticizing the boss in a public forum b. Bypassing the boss (melompati birokrasi/protocol yang berlaku) c. Declining an offer from top management. Turning down top management, especially more than once, is a political blunder. d. Putting your foot in your mouth (being needlessly tactless/canggung) It is important to avoid—or at least minimize—being blatantly tactless toward influential people. When you feel you are on the verge of being critical, delay your response, and perhaps reword it for later delivery. Use your emotional intelligence. e. Not conforming to the company dress code. f. Writing embarrassing or incriminating email messages. Unethical Political Tactics and strategies 1. Backstabbing pretend to be nice but all the while plan someone's demise. 2. Embrace or Demolish Hilangkan musuh yang menentang kita sepenuhnya sebelum mereka balas dendam

3. Setting a Person Up for Failure Ex: an executive whom the CEO dislikes might be given responsibility for a troubled division whose market is rapidly collapsing. 4. Divide and Rule adu domba bawahan kemudian buat mereka menjadi bergantung dengan kita. Ex: asking them to prove data explaining why their budget is more worthy than the budget requested by rivals 5. Playing Territorial Games Also referred to as turf wars, territorial games involve protecting and hoarding resources that give one power, such as information, relationships, and decision-making authority. Ex: the manager might tell others that his star performer is mediocre to prevent the person from being considered for a valuable transfer possibility Bisa digunakan untuk tujuan yang baik juga, misalnya memisahkan pegawai ke ruangan- ruangan tertentu sehingga mereka tidak lagi konflik, dll. Kelemahannya, pegawai menjadi lebih self-oriented.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
