policies. The bible tells us, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV). This correlates to recidivism because people should seek to move forward to a new life and turn away from their old ways. The goal should always be to become a better person. Reading the article, "The Revolving Door at the Prison Gate" by Padfield and Maruna, the line “…. by looking primarily at the US experience (which reveals a system which is costly, discriminatory and apparently ineffective at reducing crime) ….” Shows examples of bias. The line was worded in a way that can from emotion rather than from factual information. References Mosher, C. J., Miethe, T. D., & Hart, T. C. (2011). The mis measure of crime (2nd ed.). Los Angeles, CA: Sage Publications, Inc. ISBN: 9781412981811. Hello Thomas, I agree that it is important that we are not biased when placing research on certain topics. If we are, we run the risk of not presenting information as accurately as it should be, and we only report things that are beneficial to our own causes. The goal should always be to effectively communicate issues and every possible angle. Biased research can also spread negative messages surrounding important causes. The bible tells us, “show no partiality as you hold faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory” (James 2: 1 ESV).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
