intense scrutiny by bloggers, journalists and talking heads. Any level of bad behavior is suddenly out there for the public to see. In LeBron case, he has been in the spotlight of the media since he was fifteen in the tenth grade, and he wasn’t just in the spotlight he was the spotlight. He was the first of many superstar athletes in the new age of social media to receive ungodly amounts of

publicity, exposure, and constant coverage of an individual not even able to own a driver’s license. Nonetheless, I think LeBron was special in the fact that he was extremely mature and had always carried himself as though he understood the world recognized him anywhere he went so keeping his nose clean and having high character traits were mandatory for a person in his place. Yet, some athletes are thrust into a position of responsibility there not truly ready for. Of course some handle it better than others like LeBron who’s never really been in any trouble legally at least. LeBron himself eluded

Along with the remarkably high social influence and effect todays athletes have, more can be said about their lucrative salaries. In a time when many Americans are struggling to make mortgage payments, student loan payments and find good
