meeting their needs. Another way that soft drinks create commitment and consistency among their consumers is through their continuous campaign ads. Every so often, brands will come out with new campaign ads to stay relevant among the changing population. This keeps their old consumers as well as gaining new ones. We believe that in these different techniques that they use, there is not much else they could really do to improve the commitment and consistency aspect of Cialdini’s 6 weapons of influence. However, when it comes to Social Proof, we did find ways in which the soft drink industry could apply new uses of this weapon. Ways that they could do this would be through the use of social media. Most times when we think of social media, we just get the idea to start flooding these websites with ads. Although, this may be an effective way to get the product out to the masses, my group came up with some more innovative ideas to catch and hopefully keep consumers attention. One of these ideas was through the use of Instagram. Instagram is a new social media in which you are able to post pictures and you gain followers through whether or not people like what you have to post. You can range from having 5 followers, to 500,000 followers. People who are not celebrities can somewhat gain a “celebrity” status by the number of followers they acquire. This in turn makes them more appealing to “regular” people because
