Auxin, also known as AA. Auxin increases height by producing hydrolytic enzymes to create more turgidity in the cells, which causes the plant to elongate. This hormone also causes plants to grow towards a light source, which in turn allows the plant to adjust to changes in light. Lastly, this hormone also controls and regulates water intake in the same way it creates cell elongation. Since the hormones are becoming more turgid, they are obviously taking in more water due to the enzymes being so acidic. 2b. There are multiple different mechanisms used by hormones that cause change at the cellular level. 2 of these mechanisms are cell division and cell expansion. Cell division are initiated by the hormones cytokinin and auxin, or AA. In order to complete cell division for plants, there has to be a specific ratio of auxin to cytokinin. death in plants by assembling nutrients from nearby tissues. Cell expansion is caused by auxin. Auxin releases enzymes to create a significant amount of water taken into the cells of the stem area. This hormone is the core hormone of all of the plant hormones that create cell elongation and cytokinesis.
