[30 points] a) The truss structure below is roller supported at points A and E and pin supported at point C. Please identify the element forces under the applied load and a downward support settlement at pinot C of 10 mm. E = 200 MPa and A = 30 cm 2 for all elements. b) The following one-story, one-bay frame structure is tied using a steel cable at the base. Using the information presented below, please draw the moment and shear diagrams of the frame structure under the applied load and calculate the displacement at point D. Ignore the axial and shear deformation in the frame elements. Point A is pin connected and point D is roller connected. (To expedite the grading process, please present your final moment and shear diagrams using the following sign convention. Moment diagram: Draw the moment on the tension side. .
