SAM Software • SAM 2013 requires purchase of an access code (part of class package), a broadband Internet connection and a current browser version. • It requires Adobe Flash 11.0 or later • SAM ebooks and trainings work fine on Mac/PC • SAM projects require PC version of MS Access/Excel 2013! • iOS tablets can try Photon or Puffin browser app
Over Collaboration • Software is good at catching “collaboration” • iLearn and SAM knows when and where you take tests • When you get marked for “integrity violation”, you will get a “zero” for the assignment • Don’t share / leave your files on library machines! • Repeat offenders will be reported
How to get Office 2013 • Every SFSU student can download MS Office 2013 EDU for free from Microsoft. https ://portal.office.com/start?sku=e82ae690-a2d5-4d76-8 d30-7c6e01e6022e • Mac users cannot “activate” MS Office for Mac 2011 due to authentication problems (fix in Office for Mac 2014) • Free access to MS eAcademy (Dreamspark) to download Windows 7 & 8 and MS Access 2013 (4 th week) • Free VMware Fusion to run a virtual PC on Mac
Apple Computers • There is NO MS Access for the Mac. Both MS Access 2013 and MS Excel 2013 are PC versions that require Windows.
