b) Discussion is related to influential ideas, social and political events, and persons of that time, including how the activity related to his or her work. Recognized as one of the most influential psychologists in the 20 th Century for his immense work around the theory of cognitive development. His contributions in the field of psychology influenced a great number of future psychologists in studying human behavior as well as other non-human primates behaviors. In his study of cognitive development, Piaget came to a conclusion that four stages are involved in a child’s mental development, which included: a) The sensory-motor stage:- He classified this age to be between a child’s birth to age two. At this age a child’s brain concentrated majorly on objects around the child. The mental structures became aware of the surrounding concrete and real materials.

At this age he discovered that children learned language symbols, engage in playing, have dreams and fantasizes. c) The concrete operational stage:- He classified this age to be between age seven and eleven, this is where children start to classify different things, understand relationships, master numbers and know how to reason. d) The formal operational stage:- From age eleven to adulthood, in which children transit in their thoughts and begin to formulate independent thoughts and substantiate their thoughts with other people's ways of thinking. Piaget established an outstanding discovery in the way children thought to be different form how adults. He made argued that the first three stages in children’s thought completely depended on exploration of their environment, as opposed to adult thought which is built on the laws of language. In these stages children studied their environment and surroundings in a natural manner without the establishment of reward or punishment. He discovered that heredity from parents played and important role in shaping a child’s behaviors and characters towards their environment. Piaget discovered that mental growth process took place through integration, or by means of uncovering ideas of high degrees through absorbing low-level ideas, or through substitution a means in which older ideas are replaced by more concrete ideas with substantial explanations. He called his theories on child development genetic epistemology, relating his theories to the schema concept that gave an understanding of the cognitive structures and fundamentals that formed the framework of understanding the world. His work influence a great number of notable
