remaining committed to reforming the Church and its clerics' abuses from within. He also held to the Catholic doctrine of free will, which some Reformers rejected in favor of the doctrine of predestination. Paragraph 2: An analysis of the source C -ontext, A -udience, P -oint of View, P -urpose, and S ignificance The ‘’ The Praise of Folly” was written because it was to show that not many people who are considered holy in church are very holy. The people who go to church or even give money to those people don’t really know who are the people they are giving there money to. So Erasmus did this for everyone to know about the unholy people in the churches and outsiders who consider themselves holy. This is the point of view of Erasmus. The purpose was to expose all of the people who are not loyal who consider themselves the most holiest person on earth which is not. The significance is to show that not to trust people by there saying or there ranks in society. Many of them are liars and unholy.
