According to moral egoism, it is always acceptable to do what we believe to be in our own self-interest. Moral egoism is sometimes called "ethical egoism". Political action committees vs special interest Political Action Committee , or PAC , is a group that raises and distributes money to candidates. Some are independent, and some are associated with a specific interest group. Legally, what constitutes a "PAC" for purposes of regulation is a matter of state and federal law. Since campaign laws limit the abilities of a business to donate money directly to a candidate, businesses will often instead funnel money through a PAC Special Interest Group ( SIG ) is a community with an interest in advancing a specific area of knowledge, learning or technology where members cooperate to effect or to produce solutions within their particular field, and may meet communicate, meet and organize conferences . They may at times also advocate or lobby on a particular issue or on a range of issues but are generally distinct from Advocacy groups and pressure groups which are normally set up for the specific political aim; the distinction is not firm however and some organizations can adapt and change their focus over time. Example: a privately owned bus service used by many citizens is extended a government loan in order to bridge a short-term cash flow gap. NIMBY or Nimby is an acronym for the phrase not in my back yard . The term (or the derivative Nimbyism ) is used pejoratively to describe opposition by residents to a proposal for a new development close to them. Opposing residents themselves are sometimes called Nimbies. NIMBY is also used more generally to describe people who advocate some proposal but oppose implementing it in a way that would require sacrifice on their part.

Fossil Fuels are NON-renewable - formed by natural resources such as anaerobic decomposition of buried dead organisms . The age of the organisms and their resulting fossil fuels is typically millions of years, and sometimes exceeds 650 million years Whistle-blowers are individuals who report unethical practices by their employers to authorities inside and/or outside the organization. (Silkwood is an example.) Arable land is an agricultural term, meaning land that can be used for growing crops . It includes not only cultivated land , but also the totality of all land where soil and climate is suitable for agriculture, including forests and natural grasslands, and areas falling under human settlement. According to FAO report, the global land area without major soil fertility constraints is about 31.8 million square kilometers, and total potential arable land is about 41.4 million square kilometers. Although constrained by land mass and topology, the amount of arable land, both regionally and globally, fluctuates due to human and climatic factors such as irrigation, deforestation, desertification, terracing, landfill, and urban sprawl.
