Fixation of carbon (from CO 2 ) into sugars is carried out by the Calvin Cycle Huge energy requiring pathway! The energy originated from sunlight and is now in the form of ATP and NADPH You will not be tested on details of the Calvin cycle. But you should know what goes in and comes out. This energy is now being converted into the bonds contained within carbohydrates
