Being a visual artist, Keith Haring had some simple, symbol-like drawings of babies, dogs, and dancing figures. He also used to make many other symbolic drawings in his career. These drawings were used symbolically to educate people on many issues such as social activism, love, aids, death, and war to protest the apartheid which was in South Africa and many other lessons. He had a big retail shop in New York where he could display his work of arts and sell to people of the United States. His arts were very common to the people of the United States and they could display his drawings on their buildings. His work of art meant much to the peopleof the United States as he could educate them on the issues which were directly affecting them through his drawings. Keith believed art was a strong tool of communication which could be used to transform and enrich the lives of people. His work of art influenced his life so much and was very dedicated to using his knowledge to influence the lives of other people. [Joh92]Keith Haring lived for 31 years. He was born in 1958 and died in 1990 after being diagnosed with AIDS in 1988. In his short life, his work of arts influenced his life in a great way.Haring begin his art work in New York when he was still at The School of Visual Arts (SVA). At the beginning, he made a video which was focusing on his own body and especially his genitals.
