Using specific details and descriptive language helps the story develop meaning and further explain the subject of the writing. The type of genre that resembles the journal entry to me is the descriptive writing. I think this because for our journal response we were asked to read different essays and give in great detail what was being said and why. Usually in a descriptive writing assignment they will as you to involve the reader by giving examples. This is exactly what was assigned for our journal entry. These different types of writing have similar structure, tone, and point of view. All must engage the reader in a clear and organized way, they can be viewed in various aspects depending on the story or topic.
