class due date. All paint/ink should be dry. A broken printer does not excuse missed deadlines. Absence does not excuse missed deadlines. A test can only be taken the day it is administered in class unless prior arrangements have been made with me. A test cannot be taken more than a week past the original date. The final week of the quarter is as important as the first week, so please do not make flight reservations for the last week of the quarter. Copyright: You must give credit to any artist whose work has inspired you to the point that it could be recognized as that artist’s work (may be allowed while in school, but not in the real world for exhibit or sales!). Make at least seven changes to the original artist’s work to avoid plagiarism. The SCAD Foundation Studies blog is helpful for departmental news and policy information. The blog is located at: blog.scad.edu/foundationstudies/ Peer Tutoring: Peer tutoring is provided for any student who needs it. If a student is consistently having problems with craftsmanship or understanding the concepts of the course, he / she may be told to seek the help of a tutor. If a student is told to work with a tutor and does not, this will be reflected in grades. Peer Tutoring Schedule: Look for announcements on MySCAD, the SCAD Foundation Studies blog, Blackboard or posters in the buildings. Check your kit before you pay to make sure that the items are in it. You probably already have the few other materials that you will need throughout the quarter. Do not use a cheap brand of paint, as the cheap paints do not have enough pigment in them. I recommend Golden, or Liquitex or Windsor Newton brand paint, Acrylic only. It’s fine to mix and match the paint brands. The kit is not mandatory, but has been put together for your convenience and at a lower cost to you than buying the items separately.
