Response to Professor, Hi Professor, I misread the facts about the X chromosomes. Men are more likely to have color blindness over women because of their specific chromosomes. Women have double X chromosomes meaning to inherit color blindness is women they have to have the “red-green color blindness” gene in both X chromosomes (National Eye Institute, 2019). Men have one Y chromosome and one X chromosome meaning they have a higher chance in inheriting the gene because they only have one X chromosome and the “red-green color blindness” gene is only inherited through the X chromosome (National Eye Institute, 2019). Color blindness has no cure but there are ways to adapt using glasses contacts, and certain technology to help with color definition (National Eye Institute, 2019). The special glasses and contacts for a person who is color blind will help them distinguish between different colors that a non-color blind individual might see on a regular basis.
