environment are also a motivating factor in adult learning. Instructors should focus on creating a positive learning environment for their students. Environment consists of a lot of different things like seating arrangements, weather, safe, and clean area. Some adults will lose motivation to learn if they are required to sit in a traditional classroom setting with a teacher-centered approach because it may bring back bad experiences in earlier school days. Effective academic advising practices are the last motivating factor that influences adult learning. Effective advising can be huge in allowing a student to learn what they want to learn and if a student feels as if they are not being guided correctly, they can lose motivation in the learning experience. Motivation is key in the success of adult learning. If an adult loses motivation to learn, they will most likely fall behind on work and get either fired or fail the course in a higher education setting. Environment can play a huge role in adult learning and is directly connected with the motivation of the student. “Walberg’s theory of educational productivity (Walberg, 1969) holds that there are nine factors which influence students’ cognitive and affective outcomes: his/her age, motivation, the quality and quantity of instruction, the psychological climate of the home, the classroom, social group, the peer

Cognitive Learning TheoriesIn our complex healthcare system, transformations in healthcare practice, police, and/or regulations have been impacted the use of health informatics in healthcare organizations. It is important to understand the context and foundations of the implementation of cognitive learning theories in the application of health informatics. While there are been opportunities to developing training, educational interventions and guidelines in the implementation of health informatics in health practice, health organizations face current and future challenges with the use of health informatics in order to provide high quality patient care. In an environment driven by technology, cognitive science and learning theories offer an important mechanism to understand health informatics. In addition, the understanding of cognitive learning theories requires a clear knowledge of behavioral, cognitive and perceptual factors affecting the way people learn and think. Healthcare and medicine are fields that require cognitive learning theories to provide an important design and learning strategies in order to develop better reasoning, decision-making, and problem solving. Cognitive learning theories and sciences is a multidisciplinary field that has a foundational role in informatics training and education involving cognitive psychology, cognitive anthropology, linguistics, philosophy and artificial intelligence (Patel, Yoskowitz, Arocha, & Shortliffe, 2009). Learning and appropriated training can be achieved at any point of our professional career. Rapid advances in healthcare and science make it difficult that someone can reach a level of
