TASK 1 4 Sentinel City offers a wide array of resources for the community. Their Department of Parks and Recreation offers many family friendly opportunities such as swimming lessons, summer programs for children, sport leagues and after school programs, adult fitness programs, gardening courses, and nutrition classes. While this department is very family friendly, there are its drawbacks. Current data shows that last year alone there were complaints of drug use, crime, homeless persons, and stray animals within the parks. 9% of citations issues in the park and recreations areas were for prostitution, 11% for littering, and 24% for violent crimes. (American Sentinel University Inc., 2017) Another wonderful and much needed resource offered through Sentinel City Health Systems is Elderly Services. These services include meals-on-wheels, elder abuse prevention advocates, service animals, government entitlement assistance, community centers, and different housing options. There are 3472 senior living center units, 2874 nursing home units, 1048 independent senior apartment units, 248 assisted living units, 64 skilled nursing beds, 36 long term care beds, and 24 swing beds. Each offers a wonderful possibility for the elders of Sentinel City depending on their various needs (American Sentinel University Inc., 2017). Social Services offered through Sentinel City Hall include adoption assistance, head start programs, youth independent living programs, child care providers accepting subsidiary benefits, Medicare, Medicaid, charitable healthcare, ACA, WIC, and SNAP. Of those utilizing SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), 36% were low income, 23% were part of the persons in training programs, 26% were disabled, and 15% were those ages 60 and above (American Sentinel University Inc., 2017).
