INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN Sequence of Instructional Procedures/Activities/Events (provide description and indicate approximate time for each): 1. Student Prerequisite Skills/Connections to Previous Learning: The teacher explains the importance of fluency as related to comprehension. Using the analogy of riding a bike, the teacher asking what happens when you ride a bike too slow. Reading is the same as riding a bike, if you don’t keep up the speed then you will not be able to keep up with the grade level text. After explaining the importance of fluency the teacher demonstrates fluent reading verses robot reading. Expression is used when reading fluently as well, this is also demonstrated.
