the production of serotonin (a happiness hormone) into the neuro-system. Moreover, religion also correlates with happiness. Select a scholarly article that discusses religion and happiness. Discuss the effect that religious belief has on people's happiness or unhappiness as it relates to their behaviors and attitudes. What effect does religion have on helping behavior, the prevalence of prejudice, and health of religious people? Share your findings. Religion also plays a significant role in an individual’s overall happiness. According to Sander (2017), religiosity correlates with happiness. However, the relationship between happiness and religiosity depends to a large extent on the societal circumstances. For instance, countries with harsh economic and more difficult living conditions tend to be more religious compared to nations with favorable living conditions. Almost all religions whether Hinduism, Christianity or Islam believe in the golden rule. Therefore, religion can help people to become better helpers and avoid prejudice which might make others unhappy. Conversely, religion can also contribute to unhappiness especially when an individual feels that he/she is not living up to the religious standards (Sanders, 2017). Reference Sander, W. (2017). Religion, Religiosity, and Happiness. Review of Religious Research, 1-12.
