there will be a flood that no one will be able to escape but only him and his family and is ordered to build a boat. God says that his goal is to exterminate humankind because he is outraged at them for their misconduct. In Utnapishtim’s version, he is warned by one of the gods of the flood that will be a punishment to the city of Gilgamesh but will affect the entire world as well. The gods had decided that in order to end human life they would produce a flood. But Utnapishtim was not supposed to know of this, Ea, one of the gods, betrayed the other gods and told him of their plan and informed him through a dream. Just like Noah he is also instructed to build a boat that is roofed and will protect him. A difference between these stories is that Noah’s God was unhappy with the wickedness of humans as for Gilgamesh the gods were disappointed at the human’s sins.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
