Precio de venta del producto (PV) es el precio al cual vendo mis pro- ductos. En el siguiente cuadro se presenta la defi nición del Punto de Equilibrio (PE): PE Punto de equilibrio. IT Ingresos totales. CT Costos totales. CF Costos fijos. CVT Costos variables totales. Q Cantidad. PV Previo de ventas. PE= IT – CT = 0 Por lo tanto, IT = CT Así como, CT = CF + CVT Por lo tanto se deduce que: IT = CF + CVT Igualmente, IT = PV x Q Por lo tanto se deduce que: PV x Q = CF + CVT x Q Quedando: Q = CF/(PV – CVT) Siendo Q la cantidad mínima de producción donde se igualan el total de ingresos con el total de costos, es decir el punto de equilibrio. Para entender fácilmente este tema, se presenta un ejemplo bastante sencillo:
