Spillover Benefits Likewise, students from public school who have improved abilities may assist in rapid technological developments and inventions. Public education produces human capital spillovers that are crucial for investments required for economic growth (King, 2005). Apparently, if the K-12 education system were fully privatized, schools would mainly focus on productivity skill that increases students’ wages instead of emphasizing on citizenry and social conventions that have minimal marginal benefits particularly to individuals. Citizenry benefits that are accrued early during an individual’s education life provide the rationale for K-

Likewise, if education were to be a good, families that enjoy high income would provide their children with more education than those families whose incomes are low. Consequetly, K-12 public education should be encouraged instead of pure private K-12 education (Dee, 2004). Absence of purely public K-12 education would reduce income mobility creating a large gap between the poor and the rich. Certainly, public education levels the playing field of play ensuring that all American families are able to access education. Finally, absence of purely public K-12 education would mean that families self finance the education of their children.
