Type of ConflictFurthermore, some ways to approach conflict are concentrated on personalities or relationships and others are fundamental in tasks and processes (Khan, Iqbal & Hussainy, 2016). Our conflict is that Malcom and Julia disagree on the design and application for the hot air balloons burners assembly. In this case, the conflict type is a combination of task and process related conflicts. Task related conflicts comprise of quarreling about opinions, strategies and tasks. Also, process related conflicts are arguments about how to best approach a project or task as well as who does what project (Ghaffar, 2009). Both Malcom and Julia cannot come to an agreement on the best design, process or who should do it, thus a combination of task and processing conflicts have ensued. Factors Escalating the ConflictHowever, there is more to this conflict than just disagreeing on tasks and processes. Thereare three factors that have escalated the conflict from a mere disagreement to a conflict that is capable of tearing the team apart.
