Executive Summary Social media has made many new ways for businesses and shoppers to interact with one another. Businesses are always trying to find new ways to improve and better their product and services. They're always trying to find new ways to get people to buy their stuff instead of another business product and services. The shoppers are always giving the businesses feedback by buying the product and services they want at that business. Because it's so important what product and services the shoppers buy, social media is essential for businesses to figure out what to do with the data of what shoppers buy. In this example, I will be using a hypothetical food company that are planning to use social media to get more people to buy their food. For generation Y, the food company could use social media to advertise to them that they offer delivery. Generation Y is all about going fast, doing things fast, and getting things fast without much effort. Generation Y is used to things being handed to them and they have it easier than the older generations. The food company can advertise that you'll get your food in the next 30 minutes from the time you order. Having the option for your food to be delivered to you is best for generation Y. This company would advertise these on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. More on Instagram because generation Y prefer Instagram more than other social media (How Do). For generation X, they are very similar to generation Y. The food company may want to advertise that they allow you to order food early and you can pick up your food with no charge. Like generation Y, generation X want things to go smoothly with little effort. But because they are a little part of the Baby Boomers, they wouldn’t mind picking up their own food. The food company should advertise this on Facebook and Twitter since that's where generation X spend most of their time on (The Most). For the Baby boomers, the food company could advertise more on the restaurant being very welcome and comfortable. The point of this advertisement is to get those Baby Boomers to come in and get a satisfying service so that they come back for more. Baby boomers are all about spending their time with family and won't be in a hurry to get food. The food company would advertise this just on Facebook. In The Most Popular Social Networks website, it shows that Baby Boomers are more on Facebook than any other social media (The Most).
