Important Note: In order to help me learn your names and assure that you receive proper credit for your class participation, you will be required to bring a name card with you to each class session . (Card stock will be provided on day 1.) Marketing Plan The final exam is a Team-created Marketing Plan. The project may require that you select a company and prepare a plan for a completely new product or service for that company, or for an existing product or service that is being significantly repositioned . The marketing plan needs to cover several areas according to the guidelines posted on Camino. The first step in this assignment is to pick a project topic (the product/service). Your group may choose a project that one of the group members’ company is currently working on, provided the project comply with the course guidelines. Since we will be discussing contents of the marketing plan openly in class, be sure there are no confidentiality requirements surrounding your project. Alternatively, there may be the potential to work with a designated company looking for marketing assistance. More information about this option will be provided on the first day of class. On the assigned presentation day, usually the defined "Final Exam" time and date, your group will present the recommended Marketing. In your group presentation, the group will play the role of a team from a management consulting firm presenting the results of your work to the firm that hired you. The presentation should some background on the company situation, the marketing decision problem, the main findings, the recommendations, the alternatives considered, and an action plan with a brief assessment of risks and rewards. This presentation should be polished, professional, clear, compelling, and useful to your client. You should regard it as an excellent opportunity to improve or refine your presentation skills. For this effort, everyone should present and be responsible for handling questions. After the presentation there will be a brief Q&A session for the executives and me. A written electronic version of the complete marketing plan (8-10 pages) is due by the beginning of your presentation day. The written version should reflect all the key items in the recommended Marketing Plan template (consult Camino for guidelines). Please provide an electronic copy of your slides and report to the executive and to me. See Camino for further details on this assignment. Additional Work There may be some additional assignments (individual or group) to support your learning process. VI.
