Therefore, there is a need for luminaires to be turned on during the day. Although large amount of sunlight enters the room through the windows, it is not enough to light the entire room up to the standard levels. At the center of the room, values of only 40 to 90 lux were observed which greatly improved to between 260 and 330 lux when luminaire group three was turned on. Areas near the front doors were also lower ranging from 70 to 90 lux and greatly improved to between 160 to 250 lux. ii. Although below standard, it was observed that the walking areas were able to reach levels of 200 to 300 lux which is ample enough for walking and avoid hitting something. Uniformity can also be observed withing the walking areas so the eyes will not get tired with adjusting when walking. The room was still able to reach an average value of 311 lux which means the room was able to reach the standards with its luminaires. Empty areas were able to achieve values of more than 400 lux as they area directly below luminaires five and six which has the greatest luminous flux. Values were then gradually decreasing to the standard of around 300 lux at the center area where most activities were made during the night such as preparing for the mass and where the couches are located for resting.
