Any other day, the beds only need to be made. First straighten any crinkles and fluff the pillows. Tuck the cover or fold the cover back a ¼ of the way.

Arrange the pillows neatly over the cover and finish by carefully covering the pillows. Remove clutter and dust around. It is a good idea to have a paper bag with you so little items which need sorting out could be done later on. Take one last look before you leave the area. If it meets your approval, then the room is done. Move to the rest of the rooms but take a look at your checklist just to be sure. Bathrooms are the mirrors of any home. A clean and spotless bathroom gives any home a five star approval. Start with the toilet bowl – inside and outside. If this is done every day, there is no reason why it should be a major task. Go over the mirror afterwards. It is really annoying to look into dirty mirror. Toothpaste spots and fingerprints are tell-tales that reveal how good a housekeeper you are. Finish by polishing and shining the counter and sink. And it is not enough to simply hide clutter by putting them behind the mirror and shoving them into drawer. Spend half an hour each day to major projects like cleaning shelves, drawers, etc. The living room or family room is next in line. Remove clutter and dust around and return furniture to their proper place. Coffee tables must be spotless. Ashtrays washed. Now it is time to attack the kitchen. Fill the sink with hot, soapy water, soak everything that needs to be washed. Let the dishes be soaked while making tables, oven, fridge and counters spotless. Then take the head of the vacuum cleaner and groom carpets and rugs. Unless the carpet really needs vacuuming, there is no need to actually vacuum everyday, but grooming is a must. Many homes are equipped with a dishwasher, but unless dishes are pre-rinsed, no dishwasher, it disinfects and sanitizes your dishes and utensils. You can now go back to your dishes. It is always a good idea to rinse dishes because we can never be sure of detergent ingredients. It is now time for a break, the children under your charge need a mid- morning snack and you deserve a big cup of coffee and a sandwich or whatever you and the children prefer. The whole day is now reserved for you and the children. You have your peace of mind because your home is clean. It does not actually mean

that your job is done, but at least for the rest of the morning you can now concentrate on child rearing. SCHEDULE (e.g. daily routine, weekly and monthly schedule) is and effective aid in time management. House chores are distributed throughout the day or week or month allowing you to keep up and maintain the home in an effortless manner. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
