can maintain their rank respectfully he draws attention to the decline and the number of students who enter college, and the decline of the quality of the school. The author, then, compares this unbalance system to minority students and their process of learning in the educational system “No doubt many of the students who use them are foreign students or affirmative action students, but their clientele is definitely not limited entirely to minority and disadvantaged students. It is an inherently unstable situation and must lead to a decline of standards at all American universities, and probably has already done so.” Hirsch is annoyed about the academic intellect fall from 1965, as

Hirsch’s analysis of why the educational system doesn’t have strong foundation from K-12 is because he is connecting the school system is “ not controlled by the educationist point of view”, the author then questions how come our universities are better than our public school K-12, aspiring teachers to have better opportunities to teach younger students whose minds are more open to learning, although he also exposes the minimal effect that a teacher may have because of the upbringing environment the student may have come from. The author then, reminisces a quote from Jefferson, for the future students and educators to explore their mind, to not be afraid, to “follow truth wherever it may lead.” However, Hirsch disagrees utterly referring a “universe” of difference between Jefferson’s quote with reality, balancing the upbringing environment, a concrete factor related to student’s maturity level helping them pursue higher learning after high school. The author agrees scholars have “control their destinies, place great value on depth, breadth and accuracy of knowledge as well as on independence of thought”, he also thinks the upbringing school system environment should be more intellectual and have more value towards challenging the student’s mind instead of valuing freedom of speech and the first amendment. The author then emphasizes in well-educated international students which have “influx
