More of a complete coverage for employees and employers. If an injury or illness is due to the work environment and the worker has to be medically treated for that injury or illness, the health care coverage will be extended to cover the costs. Medical care is provided to make healing easier resulting in a faster recovery time for returning to work. There will be no “out-of-pocket costs” for any medical services needed and there is no timeline in which the injury or illness needs to be taken care of (Green, 2018).

The main disadvantage I can think of is the patient not being able to choose where their workers’ compensation health care will take place. They must go to a health care provider that’s provided through the managed care organization. 5. Should patients be able to choose their own doctor for workers’ compensation injury care?
