contact shows that am comfortable and truthful while talking to them. Eye contact helps me tell who is lying and who is not. Empathy is the ability of sharing and understanding another person’s emotions[ CITATION Sin09 \l 1033 ]. Acts of empathy show the other party that they are being listened to and their points of view respected no matter what. I am empathetic with my subordinates even after their criticism or conflicts with them. I relieve my subordinates of job related stress by showing that I care. Phrases such as, “Are you sure you are okay?” even when they say they are are so helpful. Respect is two-way traffic. In leadership, employees and their opinions must be respected to maintain a cordial relationship. I listen to and respect my subordinates’ points of view unconditionally all the time making them feel always appreciated. Since communication at work is largely via email, simple acts such as making sure the text messages are correctly written creates the impression that they are respected enough. However, there is need to look for a more effective feedback and motivation system to provide important feedback between me and my employees. Use of online status updates, short messages and phone calls will be helpful but will not come in handy in all types of conversations. Layoffs will be communicated in person other than via email. These efforts increase my chances of any leader being more effective, and so will they increase mine.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
