All of the communication and arrangements with the school were done over email: including airport pick up, family stay, volunteering, and classes. My experience in Cusco with the school, volunteering, and my Peruvian family was incredible. Cusco is a very popular tourist town because of it’s proximity to Machu Picchu and other archeological sites, but it has managed to keep it’s heart, it’s culture, and hang on to some deeply rooted traditions that trace back to both their Incan and Spaniard roots. While the city has more than 350,000 inhabitants, it feels more like a small town with people often greeting each other in the street and striking conversations with friends. The tourists are easily spotted among the crowds of traditionally dressed Andean people and the modern Cusqueños. The
