For a social worker to effectively address the needs of my family in case there is a pressing issue, one of the important aspects that the worker must understand is my religious practices, beliefs, and norms. These include aspects that my family do and consider them essential. For instance,my family is religious and will always pray together before everyone heads to sleep. In addition,my family enjoys main course meals such as lunch and dinner together at the dining table. Incase of a pressing issue such as a critically ill family member confined in bed at home, it isimportant for the social worker to understand all our beliefs and practices, and abide by them. This will promote the relationship between the worker and my familyFailure to observe the cultural aspects has severe consequences on the social worker. Theseinclude the developed intervention by the social worker not being implemented effectively thusaffecting the achievement of the worker’s objectives (Domecq et al., 2014). In addition, a socialworker not observing the client’s culture may result in conflicts between the worker and theservice user. This affects the outcome of the developed intervention and satisfaction of bothactors in such a case (Carpenter et al., 2017). Further, poor collaboration between the worker andthe service user results to the development of a weak intervention may omit some of theindividual’s needs which is associated with complaints and grievances.ReferencesCarpenter, J., Webb, C., Bostock, L., & Coomber, C.
