was a French naval vessel that was stuck on a sandbar, with atotal of 400 people on board and only six small lifeboats. On June 17, 1816, a fleetof four ships departed for Africa, in which Medusa was started and was commandedby Captain De Chaumareys, a naval officer with no experience in the sea. The RaftofMedusasparked many controversies with its highly evident political themes, featuring the obvious divide between the privileged and the poor. As the stories goeson , you can clearly tell they decided to save the rich and left the poor people onboard to suffer or maybe die in the process, I have not seen any modification of thisart anywhere else but till today this art is still controversial as you begin to minddown to the artists point on of view and what led him to draw it.Théodore Géricault. One of the reason's that silk screening was such a uniquetool, was that he could use it to create a nearly identical works which featureddifferent color schemes and vivid hues. You can see what I mean below. The process that Andy used to create a silk screen is as follows:Stretch a piece of mesh over a frame (The finer the mesh the moredetailed the resulting image will be)Lay the screen on top of your paper printBlock off parts of the screen using a stencil (In the cases you dowant elements of the image to transfer)Apply emulsion (Andy Warhol applied photo emulsion)The image will now appear on the screen or meshPlace the screen onto the surface you want your “reproduced”image to appearApply ink. (You can see Warhol going through these last stepsexactly in the provided video)Here is a pretty short video clip that shows Andy performing a screen print. Here heis creating a Marlon Brando work:(Links to anexternal site.)(Links to an external site.)Collapse SubdiscussionTevon TalbertTEVON TALBERTJun 20, 2019Jun 20 at 4:09pmManage Discussion Entry
