UNEMPLOYMENT 3 act in a given job capacity. Unemployment denies society the chance to have a decent meal and a decent life. To sum up, unemployment is indeed a social problem because millions of people are jobless and unable to provide necessities for their families. The job and labor market in the U.S is a tougher place, but the federal and state government needs to find ways to stop high unemployment rates (Stibel, 2014). High crime rates and poverty levels increase as a result of unemployment. A few social agencies in the U.S help people without employment through the provision of relief, and this is a clear indication that unemployment is a social problem in the U.S.
