They view us as a set not individuals you dont look

people do see twins and their automatic response is to pick the difference between them. They view us as a set, not individuals. You don’t look at two best friends and automatically be like, oh she’s blonde and tall, so she obviously the prettier friend. Like that’s not people first response. Unlike twins their face structure is the same, height, hair color, etc. Thus, when people pick out the difference it can be challenging so they really pick at the flaws. Furthermore, I have learned that there is negatives to being twins, it that people outside of twins are awful, when they are judgmental. I hate to hear that someone who looks just like me, who I find beautiful, kind, and is one of the goofiest people I know, can view themselves that way. There’s supposed to be a beauty and uniqueness to being a twin, not flaws. This experience was awful, but I will not let it define how I view being a twin or how I view myself.

Ballard 8 Learning how my twin views me was one of the best parts of the interview. I never really understood how much I impacted my sister life until this interview. Haley has expressed the lovingness of being a twin. She showed me just how important being a twin is to her identity. It amazes me how different of a bond we have compared to other people. Haley and I were ready to admit that we are easily on top of each other list. I have never had a relationship with a friend like I do with Haley. This interview has shown me just how unique our relationship is. Haley and I can express to one another just how much we positively affect each other. I mean it’s true Haley brings out this confidence in me that’s hard to find when she’s absent. To describe our relationship is a new profound unique beauty. I know the description is over load but it’s not a simplistic relationship anymore. She not just a built-in best friend, she deserves way more than just that title. She’s a new profound unique beauty, something no one can have. Thus, being a twin is how I would proudly define myself. This interview has taken on a new definition to the way I define myself. I no longer define myself as just a twin. I need to reach beyond that because Haley has shown me there’s more. Haley showed me new ways to describe myself, such as, beautiful, gorgeous, likeable, and outgoing. These are way I’ve never viewed myself and struggled to because I’ve never known someone could view me that way. She taught me self-love when I was in high school, I refused to believe her. Now that I’m in college I’ve found self-love because of her. I was so impacted and influence by her in high school that it shapes who I am today. I do have to say this interview was not what I expected but I wouldn’t change a thing about it. It has taught me a lot about myself and my twin. I enjoyed every second of the interview it was nice to be able to listen to her. She doesn’t open up a lot so this interview will be a very significant part of my college life now. I

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
