complex culture, and identities. It can also represent the history and the names of their ancestors, as well as their ancestors ancestors. These two examples of names, as well as many others in our reality, such as Ricardo, Mattea, Rosanna and more all have background and identities tagged to them. These identities use their background as a base for their personality, then grow and build from them as they turn into fine men and women. Taylor’s nickname as “Missy” as a young girl could be defined as a representation of her confident personality, as she is okay with individuals calling her by a nickname, since she believes in herself no matter what. They could call her something inappropriate, but it would just brush past her since she knows who she is and the respectshe deserves. Another character’s name that is a representation of her personality is Turtle. Taylor chooses that name because she tells the kid, “You’re like a mud turtle. If a mud turtle bites you, it won’t let go till it thunders”. This quotes can be explained furtherin a quick summary, that Taylor is describing Turtle to be the type of individual that can be calm and content, but once you get on their bad side they will not let go until they have made the victim learn their lesson. The background in Turtle’s name represents many personality traits. These traits could be shy, and quiet, but over time as she grows up and grows older those aspects slowly fade, as she evolves into her true self. Lou Ann and Taylor still call her Turtle after they decide “April” was her name. They call her Turtle still because they feel it is a better representation of her identity and personality.
