(110.262 g – 109.305 g = .957 g). We then measured a separate beaker (69.718 g) and then the beaker with Sample 2 (70.642 g). We then used our measurements to calculate the mass of Sample 2 (70.642 g – 69.718 g = .924 g). We used tweezers to place Sample 1 in the vinegar and salt solution for exactly 60 seconds. We promptly removed Sample 1 after 60 seconds and shook the sample vigorously before placing the steel wool into the top of a 30 mL syringe. We pushed the plunger down to 28.6 mL and then placed the syringe into the 50 mL beaker of detergent water. While the syringe was inside the beaker we drew up the water to the zero mark of the syringe and started the timer immediately. We then Raye & Ibrahim 1
