When schools have a diverse student body that succeeds in academics it makes the community and school look positive. Having that positive image attracts more international students to come to the United States and it affects the economy greatly. In this article, Mark Hengle uses pathos to get his point across on how international students help ASU. He gets his knowledge from Dan Howard, vice chancellor for academic affairs and research at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Howard predicts that ASU’s staff will get a 2% pay raise due to the college increasing tuition for international students.
