We'll grab one of the abandoned cars nearby, my brothers house is only an hour’s drive from here, the only reason he didn't come is because he thought it was all going to blow over and by the time he realized it wasn't the doors had already closed for good.” “And getting back in?” Durey furrowed his brow. “That is going to be more difficult but I came up with something.” “And it is?” “I planted some C4 by the northern wall, should be just enough to cause a disturbance, in the confusion we have my friend lower us a rope and climb over the wall.” “This is absolutely the most insane and suicidal thing I have ever heard” “I need to go to my daughter, I came to you because your my friend and I need help, but I will go alone. I need to see her, I need to be there for her.” And I understood, “Alright let’s just do this already.” “Ok before we go take this” he handed me a Swiss army knife. “What the hell do I do with this?” “It's got a ton of tools on it and a knife, use it to defend yourself” “Are you being serious, this is a goddamned army base, you couldn’t get me a gun?” “I already risked way too much getting the C4, you'll have to make do with that” “What the hell am I supposed to do with it? If an infected attacks should I file his nails? Oh wait hold on look a bottle opener AND a can opener, maybe I was wrong this

thing is damn intimidating.” “It's better than nothing” I slipped the thing into my pocket “Durey, the last thing I want to do is try to stab a zombie in the face with this tiny little knife, I'm probably better just smashing them with a stupid rock” “Then just do that, alright? We have to move now anyway.” “Lead on” Getting out of the Fort was easy just like Durey said it would be. Some part of me felt uneasy though, like the puppy that runs away from home, the bird that falls out of the nest, I had fled from a place that had lovingly embraced and protected me; I suddenly felt vulnerable. Durey was looking at his pack. An expression of confusion on his face. He counted some numbers off on his fingers, clearly attempting to inventory something. “What's wrong?” He looked up at me “Hmmmm, oh it’s uh nothing. Are you ready to move? We'll go down the road a bit and find a car; I'm pretty good with electronics so hot wiring it won't be any problem. The thing about silencers is that they don't really silence anything. They more muffle, or just confuse the direction from which a shot came. In a battlefield situation the advantages of this are obvious. If the enemy doesn’t know where you’re shooting from then they have a harder time shooting at you. If you have large groups of undead hunting for your flesh then it would behoove you to carry silencers.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
