Does it make any significant difference whether you measure the diameter and the length of the wire at the beginning (with only 1kg), or when there are 7kg total loaded on the hook. Explain. Yes, more weight on the wire will result in more stress on the wire which can eventually lead to elongation or stretching. V. Conclusion In conclusion, via this experiment we saw how Young’s Modulus works through the experiment and how elasticity is related to the stress and strain in a wire. After we conducted the experiment and recorded the stress and strain, the results showed that the weight or force applied to this system would have a direct effect on the stress and consequently will affect the strain by making it longer and stretched. The stress and strain ultimately affected the young’s modulus from each table and were inverses of each other for each case specifically, graph 1 has a positive sloped young’s modulus while graph 2 has a negative sloped young’s modulus that is very similar but in the opposite direction.

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
