If validations succeed, the IP splitter communicationmode is selected by default with an option to choose iSCSI mode, if desired. Ifvalidations fail, the environment is not IP-ready, and the splitter communication modedefaults to iSCSI.For existing iSCSI installations, the user may choose to non-disruptively migrate theiSCSI environment to the IP splitter communication mode. A migration wizard andprocedure are provided. The migration automatically pauses consistency groups andresumes them with the IP communication mode active. When you successfully migratefrom iSCSI to IP communication mode, all communication occurs over IP, and iSCSIcommunication is rejected. iSCSI paths and targets are automatically removed fromthe ESXi iSCSI software adapters, and iSCSI configurations (for example, VMkernelport binding) can be removed.Choosing a network adapter topologyRecoverPoint for VMs supports LAN, WAN, and data interfaces distributed acrossmultiple network adapters or combined into one. The choice depends on therequirements for high availability and performance.Combining multiple interfaces on one network adapter is recommended for smallenvironments.
