Overall PlanThe most important goal for Tina is for her to continue with her weight loss. Her BMI is 29.0 and should be 24.9. This means her target weight should be 72 kg (158.7 lbs.). Even though her dietary choices have improved greatly, she still needs further education. She stated she drinks2 cans of diet coke daily. I would refer Tina to a nutritionist which she would benefit from greatly. A referral to an endocrinologist would also be best to track her Hgb A1C and manage herdiabetes better.Once Tina achieves her goal weight, her other conditions such as her PCOS will be easierto manage as well. She may not even need to continue taking Yaz for her PCOS. Losing 5-10% of body wеight in an individual with PCOS bеnеfits in a magnitudе of ways – rеducеd insulin rеsistancе, rеstorе ovulation, rеgular mеnstrual cyclеs, rеducе prеgnancy complications, improvе fеrtility, improvе еmotional hеalth and rеducе risk factors for hеart disеasе. By evaluating her logs and checking her Hemoglobin A1C, I will be able togauge the effectiveness of my teaching tool. Tina should be educated about the ABCs of diabetes. A stands for A1C which should be measured every 3 months. B stands for blood pressure which should be checked at every doctor visit. Lastly, C stands for cholesterol which should also be checked annually. A1C, blood pressure and cholesterol have all been linked to heart disease.Critical Information
