firms are actually doing, but more what the firms are committed to fulfilling their personal
and corporate responsibilities (
Epstein, 2018)
. Moreover, it is also believed that the company
should report their information publicly which show their commitment toward their
responsibilities in accordance with the current legislation.

In the present day and age technological revolution, the methods of both construction
and manufacturing have transformed largely. Over the last few decades, the construction
industry has been consistently criticised for being inefficient and slow towards innovating the
methods and techniques involved during different phases of construction (
Watkins,
Papaioannou, Mugwagwa, and Kale, 2015)
. In addition, the basic processes, techniques, and
technologies have altered a little with time. However, the application of technology for
innovating the construction industry does not seem to be straightforward. It is evident that
every construction project is different in nature; the activities in a construction project are
located at different places, which involve the consistent movement of individuals as well as
the machinery. Additionally, there are various environmental factors including the weather,
which can prevent the application of previously used construction methods effectively.
The concept of “advanced construction technology” covers a broad range of technical
methods and techniques that incorporate the application of latest advancements in terms of
material technology, design procedures, facilities management, quantity surveying, service
delivery, structural design, and analysis. Moreover, the integration of technology in the
domain of construction could turn out to be effective in increasing the level of quality, safety,

security, sustainability, efficiency, and values for money. However, there is a conflict between
the conventional and innovative methods of new practices, which is often liable for the slow
progress of the technology transfer within the construction industry. To illustrate, the
adoption of the “advanced construction technology” needs an appropriate commitment and
design from the project team ensuring the fulfilment of proper strategies, effective quality
control, training, and vigilant commissioning.
There is a significant extent to which the research and development are to be
accomplished in terms of the advancement of the systematic approach in construction.
Despite the limitations, the system models, adopted in modern building construction, have
delivered a vast improvement in the health, safety, and durability of buildings. Due to this,
the study of building science is now identified in most of the developed nations as one of the
essentials of technical training for architects. The major reason for this issue seems to be the
explanation regarding how buildings work and recognising the reasons for the project failure.
