DEMENTIA AND ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE 9 Dementia, and the costs of housing is not always ideal for families needing care. Whether you are the caregiver or someone else is, its important that the individual with Alzheimer’s or Dementia feels safe and cared for. Funding research for Alzheimer’s disease is important in finding a cure. Some of the most famous Leading Alzheimer's and Dementia Charities and Organizations are The Alzheimer's Association, The American Brain Foundation, The Cure Alzheimer's Fund, The Alzheimer's Foundation of America, Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, and Alzheimer's Research & Prevention Foundation. Donating and helping fund research in finding a cure to Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia is imperative to the thousands of Americans who suffer every year. Spreading awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease and all of these organizations that are working to find a cure is a good way to help those with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. In conclusion On Average, one can expect to have at least occasional memory lapses from time to time. Usually it's something as simple as forgetting what you just did a few minutes ago, forgetting if you turned the kitchen lights off, or if you left your keys on the counter or in the bathroom. Such memory lapses are normal, but when they become a recurring thing, it's a more serious problem such as Dementia. There are hundreds of different kinds of Dementia, such as Fronto Temporal Dementia, Lewy Body Dementia, and Vascular Dementia. Alzheimer’s is one kind of Dementia, it is also the most common kind, and it is caused by tangles and plaques in the brain. The brain of someone suffering with Alzheimer’s disease looks very different than someone who isn’t suffering. Research and testing are important for the future cure of Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients. Thousands of people suffer from Dementia in America and I have hopes in finding a cure to this detrimental mental illness.
