Residence halls LAN IP’s will be: (128.100.27.x), (128.100.28.x), (128.100.29.x), and (128.100.30.x). Router IP’s: (128.100.254.21), (128.100.254.22), (128.100.254.23), and (128.100.254.24). How would you control the process by which IP addresses are assigned to individual computers? The process is controlled by assigning computers in the same LAN numbers that start with the same first three digits. College 1 for example has 3 LANs, LAN 1 (128.100.1.x), LAN 2 (128.100.2.x), and LAN 3 (128.100.3.x). Each computer on LAN 1 will be given an IP that starts with the same first three digits 128.100.1, each computer on LAN 2 will be given an IP that starts with the same first three digits

128.100.2, and each computer on LAN 3 will be given an IP that starts with the same first three digits 128.100.2 and so on. A DHCP server is responsible for leasing a full IP on the same LAN up to 254. So PC1 LAN 1 might get an IP of 128.100.1.3, PC 3 LAN 2 might get an IP of 128.100.2.9 and so on.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
